Having just moved house - again! - things have been pretty hectic. Somehow in the middle of it all I managed to finish the score for Loyalty Line - a sneak preview will be available for this soon on my video showreel page!
I have also just finished my Diploma in Media Composition and waiting for the feedback for my final assignment! So fingers crossed there.

Lots of news this month! Conscience Cola is now complete and you can read about it on my Credits page as well as watch a clip on my Video showreel page! There is also a clip from another film I worked on - The Bond - on my Video page! The Bond is now in the hands of Supersonic Films (an independent film label) who are about to distribute the film on the BSkyB Network!
You may also notice on my Credits page that there is a new film on the list - Loyalty Line. I am currently in the process of writing the score for this film, so more news to come on this one...!

Sorry about the huge gap in dates on the news page but I’ve been in the process of moving from Herefordshire to Scotland! I have also been busy working on an exciting animation film called Conscience Cola. See my Credits page for more info on that. I hope to add a clip from the film in the near future.
Other news is that mphmusic could soon be on Sky with The Bond! Watch this space.

Mike Harrison becomes Composer of the Week! As a member of shootingpeople.org I have been asked to feature first in a new article designed to draw the attention to composers in this ever growing film network. This new venture aims to highlight the talent of amateur composers to filmmakers, directors, animators and so on, in the hope that it will generate interest in the music of SP composers. So on the week of 14/11/2005, Mike Harrison is Shooting People’s Composer of the Week!
Updates this month include an animation in the video showreel!

Well the new site has been up and running for over a year now, and looking better than ever. Although progress has been slow, the site has been gradually increasing in popularity as well as content. Speaking of which, there has been more track samples added to the audio listening pages, and there is still more to come, so keep coming back for the new stuff.
Other than that, that just about sums up this diary entry, so until next time, thank you and goodnight!

Noticed anything different? What do you mean “no”?!
Well I’ve made the homepage more accessible for a start. I’ve split the listening section of my site into an audio showreel and a video showreel, alongside details of my album. The audio showreel is split into categories for easy navigation and I’ve added a few more track samples here and there. Each sample now has its own page for rapid load times. I’ve also improved the layout on the listening pages. And just so you can see where my music has been used, I have created a ‘credits’ page.
Now you feel guilty for not noticing don’t you?

I apologise for the lack of entries on this page recently - I have been busy though:
One of my compositions is to be used in a film by Monkey Mac Productions. The piece to be used is entitled ‘Solo Dance’ on my Showreel page as it was originally written for a dance film, but filmmaker Jessie Mac felt that it was perfect for his film ‘Castell de Ferro’. The film is still in production - see www.monkeymac.com for details.
I am also now doing a Diploma in Music for the Media alongside the freelance work. The Diploma should confirm my dedication and ability to work in the field.

Many of you will notice that, as promised, a fair few tracks have been added to the listening demos section of the site and once again, I have received some positive feedback from those of you who have had a listen.
I have now also had interest from filmmakers who wish to use some of my work. When I receive these films, you can guarantee they will appear on the showreel section of the site. Details will be posted here when they arrive.

Firstly, I’d like to say a big thanks to everyone who has had a browse of the new site, especially those who have given feedback.
Due to a few people’s dislike of Real Player for whatever reasons, I have now provided audio clips in both Real Media and Windows Media formats. The Windows Media clips; although slightly poorer in quality, have provided better access for dial-up users and enabled me to upload full videos/tracks for the showreel page.
Also keep an eye out for some new clips that will be added to the site this month.
